This idea came to me when one of my troopers asked if there could be a way to have basic training dupes permanently placed down.

I think it could be a good idea for lower ranked troopers in the morning if there were no staff on or during the day if they wanted to train if their regiment weren't doing anything or if open training wasn't happening.

I think we could plop this in the corner of the map somewhere in the void and have only basic climb SWEP and what not so it doesn't lag the server too much.

This is A POSSIBLE solution, but I have to say I'm not entirely in favor of this.

The concept is admirable, but it's just impractical. Yes there may be some moments where staff are not on the server-- something that is actively cracked down on whenever such occurs, thus rendering that point semi-moot in my opinion.

From my viewpoint, it'll just be more unneccesary props added to the map, even if it's relatively few. it may solve a few minor inconveniences, but I truthfully don't think said minor inconveniences warrant a solution being required.

Being fair there is 3 places you can do training on the ship, training room, side hanger and lower hanger.

Most of the time only 2 of them are used. So if someone wants training ask someone from a other regiment "hey can you host a open training and put some dupes down?" And normally people flock from there to it and more dupes get added.

So I don't think there really would be a need for this.

Unless this puts strain on the server, I don't see an issue with it, however, putting it in the void seems dumb. I believe a Main Hangar Alcove would be a far better location, or even the gun battery room that almost no one uses and most people don't know exists.

The concern that sometimes a staff member isn't around to dish out tools is a reasonable one. That and if the tools are given out and who ever gets them decides to make his training PTE only and say no to people because he can may also be considered, however rare and stupid that is.

The only reason that this should be discounted is if it puts strain on the server, which it shouldn't.

If there was any place that this would make sense, without getting in the way, it could make use of the huge unused area outside the cadet training room. That still leaves all hangars free for bookings.

Isn't that room used for the cadet training? Where would we do that?

The same place? cadet info is along the walls, so a training area in the center wouldn't affect much. If it's disruptive then put a wall around it.
